Plastics are inexpensive, durable and easily shaped materials with a wide range of uses. For this reason, the plastic production volume has reached significant levels in the last 60 years. The increase in the usage areas of plastics causes a number of environmental problems. Polymeric raw materials, known as plastic, are mostly used in disposable packaging products or products with a lifetime not exceeding one year. Since polymers are durable, they can remain intact in nature and cause environmental pollution, even if they complete their useful life. Recycling is one of the most effective ways to eliminate environmental problems and is the most dynamic area of today's plastics industry. However, the use of different types of plastics together or the use of plastics with auxiliary materials such as metal, paper, ink, adhesive makes the recycling process difficult. These pollutants, which cannot be removed during recycling, reduce the value of the recycled material.
The plastic sheet recommended by Konverta Recycling Inc. consists of a mixture of many different polymer types such as polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, which are known as engineering polymers, as well as general-purpose polyethylene, polypropylene, poly(vinyl chloride), polystyrene. It is produced by a process that is formed and cannot be recycled by existing recycling processes. Thus, it is seen that plastics reduce the damage to the environment to a great extent.
